Half the shower calls we get in DeSoto County are the same house: a builder-grade corner garden tub from the 1990s that nobody has filled since they moved in, sitting next to a cramped fiberglass shower. Pull both out and you get one properly sized tile shower and a bathroom that finally works. The other half are leaks, where the tile looked fine and the wall behind it did not. Either way the waterproofing goes on first and you see it before it gets covered.

Questions, answered.

Yes, and in the newer Olive Branch and Southaven subdivisions it is the most common bathroom job we do. Those corner garden tubs eat a third of the room and most people have not filled one in years. The footprint is usually enough for a full tile shower with a bench.
Because the waterproofing goes on before the tile does, and we will show it to you at that stage. Tile on its own is not waterproof, the membrane and the pan underneath it are. That is the layer that decides whether the shower lasts.
That is water getting past the pan or the wall membrane and sitting in the framing, and it usually started long before you could see it. We open it up, find where it is coming in, replace anything rotten and rebuild it properly rather than tiling back over the problem.
You get an estimated time frame in writing with your fixed price before we start. A straight tub-to-shower conversion moves a lot faster than a rebuild where we find rot in the framing, and we tell you which it is once it is open.
